Teaser Tuesday is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of A Daily Rhythm. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:
• Grab your current read
• Open to a random page
• Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
My Teaser is From:
Brown Girl Dreaming by Jacqueline Woodson
"why people are marching all over the South-
to walk and sit and dream wherever we want." pg 72
"Deep winter and the night air is cold. So still,
it feels like the world goes on forever in the darkness
until you look up and the earth stops
in a ceiling of stars." pg 131
For those that don't know - Brown Girl Dreaming is about Woodson's childhood and it is written in verse.
This is one I keep meaning to read. I had a chance to meet Woodson once and thought she was a fascinating person. My YA teaser this week comes from The Girl at Midnight by Melissa Grey. Happy reading!
ReplyDeleteIt's a fabulous read!

Shahrzad picked up the vial of scented rosewater and pulled out the glass stopper. The perfume smelled heady and sweet - like a bouquet of aging blossoms alongside a vat of slowly melting sugar. Intoxicating and mysterious.
Considering. Situated by the vial was a tiny pot of polished ivory.
I've heard so much good stuff about this book!
