The Broke and The Bookish Secret Santa Unboxing!!! #tbtbsanta

Lately I've jumped in and done a lot of book swap-type events.

The latest was hosted by The Broke and the Bookish and it was a Secret Santa Swap.

Today I'm sharing the wonderful box of goodies I received.
My Secret Santa was Jamie at Fiction Fare!!
I love that blog!

So here's what I saw when I opened the box.

How fun to have everything wrapped!

This cute little item was nestled within the wrapped gifts.  Isn't it adorable?? My 8 year old loves it!

Each package I opened was so fun.  I loved this book ornament! I have tons of owl ones, but no book ones, so this was perfect.

Then I got other goodies!

Look a JAKE RYAN Funko.  For those who grew up in the 80's you'll know the importance of this.

And finally the books!!

NIL Unlocked (wahooo!!!)
Wither (no I haven't read it yet!)
The Pledge!
Life is But a Dream (I've wanted this one for awhile!)

All of it!

(like my daughter trying to get out of the shot)

Thank you so much for everything.  It was fun and awesome and amazing and thoughtful!

SWAPOWEEN Show-Offs!

This year I'm really into swaps and book box subscriptions.  So this month I participated in the Swapoween Swap hosted by Chaotic Goddess Swaps.

I was paired with Lauren from Shooting Stars Mag.

The focus of this swap - if you haven't guessed - was Halloween items!

Here's what Lauren sent me!

It was so much fun opening this box!!! Look at all the fun stuff.  My kids and I will be digging into the brownies next Saturday! And I believe all the candy is already gone :)

Two best items:

The Lost Boys movie!!!! I loved this movie when I was younger.  Such a classic.  I had the soundtrack and everything.  So excited to watch it again.

Aaaaaaaand: Bits & Pieces by Jonathn Maberry!!!!!

I was sooooooo excited to see this book.  I love the Rot & Ruin series.  I really really do!

So getting this book was super exciting for me.

I cannot wait to dive into it.

Thank you so much Lauren!

On the Same Page Secret Sister

I am participating a secret sister exchange.  It's called the On the Same Page:  Secret Sister Project- or  as you might see it on Twitter - #OTSPsecretsister

It was started by three fantastic ladies! You can read all about it HERE.

Well I wanted to share what my secret sister sent me for September!

It was all back-to-school stuff!

And the cupcake bookmarks - they smell like chocolate!

Close up of the books
So excited to dive into some Sarah Dessen and I've heard great things about the Jenny Han books!

My sons were having fun with the whole process!

 Eating the candy :)

Thank you secret sister!!!

Books & Bloggers Swap - Showing Off the Goodies!

For the first time I participated in a swap hosted by Chaotic Goddess Swaps.

This one caught my attention because it involved books!

You swapped three different books :)

I was paired up with Shieka from Doctor's Notes.

Here is what she sent me:

Nil by Lynne Matson

I Hunt Killers by Barry Lyga

The Uninvited by Cat Winters

Plus she sent my some masking stickers!  I love these to use in my planner!!!!!

I can't wait to dive into all three of these!!!

The question will be which one first?!

Book Subscription Box - OwlCrate for August

As I've indicated in the past I've signed up for a few of the book subscription boxes.  Ok more like 4 :)

Today I'm sharing the August OwlCrate box.

OwlCrate as gotten a lot of coverage and positive reviews, so I was super excited to get in on this one! And besides it has OWL in the title!!!

This month's theme was MYSTERY.

Here's what I found when I opened the box.

The book is: Trouble is a Friend of Mine by Stephanie Tromly

This was the first I saw of this book but I LOVE the sound of it!

Then to go with the theme there was:

A cute Sherlock Holmes notebook that will go in my purse for quick notes

Adorable Holmes nail stickers

A picture quote from Harriet the Spy - this will go up in my office!

The best tho was a key chain with a quote from a Nancy Drew book.  I LOVE love LOVE it!!!!

Close - Ups

I loved getting this box.  It's just a nice little treat for myself!

For sure I'll continue to get OwlCrate!!!

Uppercase Book Subscription August Box

I've gotten caught up in the fun of subscription boxes and signed up for a few (ok 4).

Doing I want to share what I got in my Uppercase box for the month of August!

Here's how it was packaged before opening it:

And all the goodies!

I've seen the book Rebel Mechanics around, but hadn't bought it.  It's not my typical read - so I'm glad it was put into my hand because I might not have gotten it otherwise.  It looks fantastic!!

I also LOVED the bookmark because it matches the cover 100%.  How cute is that?!?!

And the necklace - it is the cutest thing! My daughter saw it and nabbed it right away.  I have a feeling I'll never see it again.

Here are some close-ups.

It was a fun box to get!  I'll stay with Uppercase for awhile :)
