In What ya Readin' Wednesday (this week on Saturday) I share what my students are reading. This allows me to focus on what's really going on in the reading life of 7th graders. Hint hint - any publisher or authors reading, this is what 7th graders are REALLY reading not what I, the teacher, WANT them to read :) Let's get started on this week's addition!
The Invention of Hugo Cabret by John Selznick - this is being read by a student who I have had in my homeroom for 3 years and she has NEVER been able to stick with a book before. She loved this book!
Geek Charming by Robin Palmer - this was shared with me by one of my students when I was asking for some new books to add. She said she couldn't put it down. It was snatched up by another student.
Star Girl by Jerry Spinelli
The Truth About Forever by Sarah Dessen
The Golden Compass by Philip Pullman
The Sea of Monsters by Rick Riordan - this books (Percy Jackson series) are flying off the shelf!
Schooled by Gordon Korman
Scorpia by Anthony Horowitz - See my feature on this series for Friday's for the Guys
Ida B by Kathrine Hannigan - very sweet middle grades book
So have you read any of these. I've read Ida B only. I guess I need to get goint!
Great post. Your students have excellent taste in literature :)
