No More Rating Scale

After some thought I have decided to do away with my rating/grading scale.  I am reviewing books first and foremost for my students.  Never in class when I've done book reviews have I given a book a rating or grade.  I've always just talked about what was good about the book and why they might or might not want to read it.  I think I'll stick with that here.  I fear that giving a book a grade will cause a student to not read it simply because they don't want to read a book given a C or something.  To me that would be the worst thing that could happen!  My main goal is to get kids reading.  Anything else is icing on the cake.
