Waiting on Wednesday: A King's Ransom

This post is inspired by a meme hosted by Jill over at Breaking the Spine. In this post I talk about books yet to be released that I'm excited about OR already published book's I've seen that I'm really wanting to read. I also like to try and find books other bloggers aren't sharing so that more books are shared.

I'm Waiting On:

A King's Ransom (39 Clues Cahills Vs. Vespers #2)
Jude Watson
Release: Dec 6

Ok  you may be thinking there are enough of these 39 Clues books, but if you saw what has been happening in my classroom for the last month, you'd change your mind.  I've got kids coming in and checking out two at a time because they love them so much, and they are afraid someone else will get them.  I've got one kid who checked out the first book because he wants his mom to read it.  They love these books.  My kids who love to read, and my kids who are real keen on it want to read them.  I say keep publishing them if they are going to keep these kids reading!!!

Amy and Dan are in a race for their lives . . . and the enemy may be even closer than they think.

When seven members of their family were kidnapped by a sinister organization known as the Vespers, thirteen-year-old Dan Cahill and his older sister, Amy, vowed they'd stop at nothing to bring the hostages home. But then the ransom comes in and the Vespers demand the impossible. Amy and Dan have just days to track down and steal an ancient map. The only catch? No one has seen the map for half a century.

Now Amy and Dan are on a desperate search that will lead them to the Nazis, spies, a mad king and some of history's dirtiest secrets. It's the race of their lives . . . and one misstep will mean certain death for the hostages.

  1. Could not agree more! Plus they are fun!

  2. I'm so excited I found this blog! My son is in the 7th grade and loves to read. But we have a hard time finding books he likes so he rereads books instead of finding something new. He just reread The Roar and The magic Thief and I can't count the number of times he's read all the Harry Potter books. I'll have to put the first book of this series on hold for him. That should keep him busy until Emma Clayton's new book comes out. Thank you!

  3. I haven't read these, but it's great that the kids are loving them! I may have to give the first one a try sometime.

  4. Sounds good!!:)

    Love your layout! :)
