Monday Cover Merriment: Princess of the Midnight Ball

I love book covers. LOVE them - some more than others of course. I love hearing what others have to say about them.
On Mondays I merrily share some of the good ones I've seen, find out what version of a cover you like better or express my disappointment in a cover that could've, in my opinion, been better. As always, click on the image to see its Goodreads page.

Today I'm in love with:

I sooooo love this dress.  Pretty pretty pretty.

From Goodreads
Galen is a young soldier returning from war; Rose is one of twelve princesses condemned to dance each night for the King Under Stone. Together Galen and Rose will search for a way to break the curse that forces the princesses to dance at the midnight balls. All they need is one invisibility cloak, a black wool chain knit with enchanted silver needles, and that most critical ingredient of all—true love—to conquer their foes in the dark halls below. But malevolent forces are working against them above ground as well, and as cruel as the King Under Stone has seemed, his wrath is mere irritation compared to the evil that awaits Galen and Rose in the brighter world above.

Captivating from start to finish, Jessica Day George’s take on the Grimms’ tale The Twelve Dancing Princesses demonstrates yet again her mastery at spinning something entirely fresh out of a story you thought you knew.

  1. This book cover as well as the story itself is absolutely gorgeous! I love the spin-off that Jessica takes with this book, definitely add more fun and thicken the plot to the original Grimm's tale.

  3. I love this cover! I have to say, I just read Entwined, which is another re-telling of The Twelve Dancing Princesses, and didn't really enjoy it. However, I've heard this one is much better, so I need to check it out soon.

  4. I read this earlier in the year and really enjoyed the characters of Rose and Galen. Then again, I'm a sucker for retold fairy tales especially when the heroines become plucky and save the hero.
