Waiting on Wednesday: Unraveling Isobel

This post is inspired by a meme hosted by Jill over at Breaking the Spine. In this post I talk about books yet to be released that I'm excited about OR already published book's I've seen that I'm really wanting to read. I also like to try and find books other bloggers aren't sharing so that more books are shared.

This week I'm waiting on:

Unraveling Isobel
by Eileen Cook
Release Date: January 3

Isobel’s life is falling apart. Her mom just married some guy she met on the internet only three months before, and is moving them to his sprawling, gothic mansion off the coast of nowhere. Goodbye, best friend. Goodbye, social life. Hello, icky new stepfather, crunchy granola town, and unbelievably good-looking, officially off-limits stepbrother.
But on her first night in her new home, Isobel starts to fear that it isn’t only her life that’s unraveling—her sanity might be giving way too. Because either Isobel is losing her mind, just like her artist father did before her, or she’s seeing ghosts. Either way, Isobel’s fast on her way to being the talk of the town for all the wrong reasons.

Why I'm Interested

It just sounds a little different from what I've seen lately.  Maybe it isn't.  I mean a mysterious guy is part of the description, but it doesn't seem like the typical mysterious guy story.  I like that it's also about her about her sanity.  That adds a touch more tension to the story.  Plus, I'm a sucker for ghosts - real ghosts stories!

  1. I love ghost stories too. Plus I love the swirly cover.

  2. It definitely has hints of other stuff that's out there, but what book doesn't? I'll add it to my list. Jill, your blog is the first one I check every morning. Thank you for all of your book suggestions. My list keeps growing and growing and growing...

  3. This book has piqued my interest! I like ghost stories, but I've shied away from them in recent years because the main characters all seemed so similar and really serious. From the summary you've posted, Isobel's voice seems unique compared to the rest! I'm starring this book so I can look for it in the future.
